History

The Drift League started began as a concept introduced in 2017 with the first event taking place in Summer of 2018.  At that time, all competitive Pro/Am drift series utilized their own rules and technical regulations. The creators of TDL saw an opportunity to create a series that aimed at training and preparing drivers who were aspiring to compete in FormulaDRIFT and make a career out of drifting. TDL was one of first competitive Pro/Am drift series to mirror FormulaDRIFT’s rulebook and focus heavily on vehicle safety and preparation. TDL also focuses on driver program preparation and professionalism - teaching drivers a code of conduct including punctuality, sportsmanship, business management, and sponsor representation.
